Q. how do I check out books to my iPad

To download ebooks and MP3 audiobooks to your iPad, go to the iTunes App store and download the free Overdrive App. Launch the app, set up an Adobe ID and choose 'Get Books.' Choose an EBRP Library from the list and you will be taken to our mobile Overdrive site where you can check out books and download them straight to your iPad.
