Hi Willie,

If you already have a hotmail account, go to http://www.hotmail.com and enter your login ID and your password. This should log you into your account.

If you do not have a hotmail account already, go to the same place and then follow the instructions under: "Don't Have a Hotmail Account? SIGN UP"

If you have a hotmail account and you are trying to access hotmail from a computer in a library building and you find that it is blocked, please speak with a staff member at the reference desk.

If you are at home and find that you are unable to access Hotmail, make sure that you are using the latest version of Internet Explorer.  There are occassionally some incompatibilities between hotmail and internet browsers from Microsoft's competitors.

The most recent version is Internet Explorer 11.  Follow the download instructions to install IE 11 on your home computer.

If you already have a hotmail account, and none of the above apply.  The problem may be that you've forgotten or entered, incorrectly, the wrong login ID or password.

The library cannot help you with this issue.

If that is the case, you can select the "Forgot your password?" option underneath the login box.  This will allow you to either reset your password or provide you access after a series fo challenge questions.

If you are still unable to access your account, you can then attempt to contact customer service with hotmail, via Microsoft's hotmail help center.
