New items appear as soon as they are added into the Catalog. The library is constantly adding new titles to our collection, so, you may see new items appear daily.
The "list" is an automatic search that was set up by a staff member to capture all of the new items in the catalog at a set number of days in the past from the current one, so the results are dynamic and will change as new items are added and older items fall off the list.
If you would like to browse for recent items on a particular topic or subject, please use our browse search tab in the catalog. You can set the search to only retrieve items that are newer than a month, 6months, etc. However, when using browse search, as you noticed, you must enter a search term. For instance "LSU" or "Tigers." If you are familiar with the dewey decimal system, you can also design a search tha pulls from a particular subject area.
If you need any assistance finding a particular item, please feel free to write back to us here or give us a call at (225) 231-3750.
