Overdrive will allow you download audiobooks and ebooks onto your computer, which you can then upload to certain ereader and music devices. From the library's Overdrive catalog, you can browse through the children's materials we have available by clicking on the "Browse Children" link on the left. There is a search box at the top of the page if you'd like to search the program for a specific title, artist, or format.

Most of our preschool books were in audio format-- like Maurice Sendak, Dr. Seuss, and Lynd Ward. I was able to find one ebook by Jerry Pinkney, but I had to wade through a lot of elementary and middle school books to find it.

You can learn more about exactly how it works on our "Get Started with Overdrive" infoguide. Please call us at (225) 231-3750 if you have any further questions.

  1. You can actually read Overdrive e-books on your computer. You don't have to transfer them to a portable device.
