Ebooks cannot be reserved until after being posted to our Overdrive page.  They are posted as soon as they can be legally downloaded, so there's no way to pre-reserve them.

Print books can be reserved before the release date, just check the catalog for the record, and reserve the book as you normally would.  If you cannot reserve a copy on a forthcoming book, give us a call at (225) 231-3740 and we'll help sort it out.  Some new books records appearing in our catalog can be a little misleading.  Depending on how far in advance to the actual release date a particular record has been posted, it sometimes is not possible to place a hold.

If you would like us to make a soon-to-be-released book part of our collection, and you don't see a record for it, try submitting a purchase request form.
