Q. Are items moved off my "on hold" list on the online system after the deadline for pick-up passes?

Yes, if an on hold item is not picked up it will be removed from your on hold list and will go to the next person waiting. If you have only just missed a pick up deadline you can call the circulation department at the branch that is holding it in case it hasn't yet been processed for the next person. If you don't think you'll be able to make it to the branch before the deadline passes, you can call the circulation department and ask them to extend the deadline by a day or two.
