You can transfer a book two ways:
1.) You can call the branch that has the book on its shelf and ask them to transfer it to the location of your choice. They will ask you for your name, library card number, and will verify your home address and phone number or email address so we may contact you when the book is available for pick-up.
2.) You can transfer it through our web catalog. To sign into your account you would first click the "My Account/ Renew" button on the left. You will be prompted to enter in your library card number and your name code, which should be the first four letters of your last name along with the first three letter of your first name. (For example, John Smith's name code would be "smitjoh") When you find the item you wish to transfer, open the full record by clicking on the title, then click on the "Place Holds" button, which should appear on the left side of the screen. A new window will pop up where you can choose the location you wish to transfer the item to, and then click on "Reserve/Place hold!"
Note that placing a hold through our web catalog may take longer to transfer than if you called a branch directly. Transfer times vary, but it generally takes 3-5 business days to arrive at your branch of choice.
