Q. Who created the sculpture at Galvez Plaza?

The "Pollock Head" in Galvez Plaza in downtown Baton Rouge was created from a "face study" of Oliver Pollock by local sculptor and former Southern University professor, Frank Hayden.

Pollock was an agent of the Continental Congress stationed in New Orleans at the end of the American Revolution.  He is credited with inventing the dollar sign "$".
